Given the stability of the disease, after therapy his case was discussed again at the tumor board for a possible surgical re-evaluation. After viewing the CT and MRI images, the hepatobiliary surgery team directed by Francesco Izzo has decided that there are the conditions for a second surgery.

The surgery lasted 8 and a half hours, during which the young man had his adrenal gland and right kidney, the seventh hepatic segment and a flap of vena cava that was then reconstructed. After 48 hours of intensive care, the patient was transferred to the ward in excellent condition. For a few days he has been at home, where he will continue treatment. “This brilliant result was possible thanks to the collaboration and dedication of all the groups involved, a true multidisciplinary approach that is now indispensable for taking care of cancer patients”, comments the medical director of Pascale, Maurizio Di Mauro.
