Clinical case
A 47-year-old man was hospitalized because he had a high level of blood glucose and proteinuria. In addition, he had a body mass index of 37.8 kg/m2 (height 181 cm; weight 124 kg), was hypertensive and was being treated with irbesartan and .
The patient was treated with exenatide with an initial dose of 5 μg BID sc and a subsequent maintenance dose of 10 μg BID sc.
However, the patient discontinued treatment on his own initiative due to injection site reactions
