To help patients and families to orient themselves and avoid more easily baseless promises and scams that aim only to enrich those who envisage «miracle cures», Osservatorio Terapie Avanzati (OTA) provides a vademecum in ten points. The focus is on stem cell-based therapies, an area of choice for actions at the limit and, sometimes, even beyond the scientific, correctness and legality.
To date, there are still few advanced therapies approved — and very few those based on the use of stem cells — but it is an area of research in continuous and rapid evolution.To stay up to date, from the OTA portal you can download free of charge the tables summarizing the status of approval and reimbursement of advanced therapies in Europe and Italy
