Clinical case
A 66-year-old man with bipolar disorder had been on lithium treatment for 20 years.
The patient suffered from hyperlipidemia, hypertension, chronic nephropathy and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
In addition to lithium, the man took atorvastatin, bupropion, lisinopril, calcium carbonate, cholecalciferol and omeprazole.
The man presented himself for medical supervision, as for 4 weeks he had appeared edema associated with reduced diuresis
