Florence, 2 Feb. — (Adnkronos Salute) — There are about 5 million and 623 thousand euros of resources available to the PNRR, the national recovery and resilience plan, to be used in Tuscany for the purchase of instruments and machinery to be made available to the health prevention system from environmental and climate risks, of which a national law of 2022 — n.79 — has defined functions and subjects that are part of it.The aim is to prevent, control and treat acute and chronic diseases associated with environmental or climatic causes: a team game between prevention departments, Regions and Autonomous Provinces, experimental zooprophylactic institutes, the Higher Institute of Health and the Ministry of Health.
The resources assigned to Tuscany will arrive after the signing of an agreement between the Higher Institute of Health, the implementing subject, and the Region, the implementing subject. The framework is to strengthen the structures and services that make up the health, environment and climate system, also at regional and local level.
«This is another investment in innovation, to have more and more modern equipment available, sometimes replacing machinery that has become obsolete», comments the regional councilor for the right to health, Simone Bezzini.
The purchases, for the benefit of the ASL, make up a long list of machinery for investigations and analyzes, names that in many cases say something only to insiders: thermometers of various types, environmental asbestos samplers, optical microscopes, Ph meters, meter, radon gas meters, microchip readers, quarter dividers for feed and bulk food, spectrophotometers for water analysis, scales, car refrigerators for transporting samples, instruments for testing endotoxins, electric jigsaws, meters of fine dust and other elements dispersed in the air, probes for water sampling.And then again microclimatic control units, thermohygrometers, sound level meters, flow meters, nitrogen generators, chromotograph and gas chromotograph, mass spectrometer, microwave digesters, freezer cells, autoclaves, granular ice producers, equipment for measuring electromagnetic fields.
Top cases for thermal insulation transport, benchtop centrifuges, rotary agitator for test tubes, air quality analyzers, ventilated incubators, pyrosequencers, thermocyclers, computers, tablets, software and a server, cameras and a photographic drone, portable video projectors and much more will also be purchased.
They are all useful tools for monitoring and analysis, to support prevention: to reduce the risk of harmful exposures to health, to promote and integrate knowledge and skills and assess the health impact of environmental factors, linked to human or natural activity, implementing good health practices in the field of sustainability and eco-compatibility also with regard to the agricultural and livestock supply chain.
