National register of breast implants
Report pilot phase 25 March 2019 —
The presence and implementation of registers in which information and data relating to diseases and their treatment converge are undoubtedly a strong point in view of the essential (and continuous) process of improvement of the system as a whole.
Operating in an articulated context, such as that of the NHS, characterized by organizational and therapeutic models and practices largely influenced by the decisions taken by the operators, by an extremely difficult rate of measurability of the output and by a limited number of available resources, means confronting daily the need to have reliable and solid data, the result of a multicentric and synergistic collection process.
Constantly verifying this process and the data generated by it, putting it to the test trying to get the best out of it, in the awareness of the extreme variability of the system as well as, as we have seen with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, of its vulnerability and corresponding resilience, is not a simple activity but necessary if you want to have a tool that can be concretely used in relation to the health needs of the population
